Lyell and I have really REALLY wanted to rip up the carpet and ugly orangey floors we have throughout the house and put down a darker wood. So, as our big Christmas present to each other this year, out dreams came true. Or shall I shall, STILL coming true. This post should be Part 1 of several more to go...
Because we are not made of money....WHAT? I know right. We decided to do the installation ourselves. I was very a little skeptical about my fix-it-man husband...but I will have to say he has done a wonderful job and we are both very proud of how the house is looking. Of course, I need to mention that my father-in-law was there every step of the way and I don't know if Lyell would have been so calm if he wasn't there. I am still trying to think of something I can do to repay all his hard work too. And I had my father and brother stop by for a bit and crank out some help too. I tried to snap some picture in between me wrestling with trying to get rid of the dust...which I failed miserably at...
What You saw when you walked in my house for a few days...
Not quite sure why this picture is so green...but regardless... Its my bedroom in the kitchen.
The boys hard at work
I couldn't find Bentley for a while...He seeked refuge in the laundry room.
My hallway...Just jump over it all.
Our bedroom for two days..
What will be the nursery...
One morning I thought the boys were working away for about an hour...I come out of the bedroom after taking a shower and to be honest expecting a noticeable difference...this is what I found...ONE SLAB!!! To be fair, the door was giving them problems.
Some Finishing results...Obviously the decorating is the same..but I think the floors make a huge difference.
Bentley is excited about the floors :)
